Tokio Hotel’s Horror Crash
Tokio Hotel frontman Bill Kaulitz has revealed he was involved in a horror car crash on his way to the 2009 MTV EMAs in Berlin.
The singer, whose band took home Best Group at this year’s bash, has described the moment his life flashed before his eyes to German newspaper, Bild.
He explained: "I was alone in the car on my way to Berlin. Normally I'm a very careful driver, have never been in an accident and never speed. Suddenly another car pulled into my lane without indicating. Trying to avoid it I lost control over the wheel.”
The shaken star added: "I tried to get out of the car immediately. I pushed open the door as hard as I could and called the police on my cell. I was very upset and in shock. The police tried to calm me down by phone.”
Despite escaping unscathed, the pretty pop boy reckons it’s going to be a long time before the horrific images of his near-death experience stop playing in his mind.
He said: "I think about the accident every day… It goes deep. I thought I wouldn't make it out alive. I've never been this close to death. It's a miracle that I'm still alive.”
But he’s taking positives from the incident, too.
He shared: “In moments like that we notice what is really important and to cherish one's life anew.”
Nice one, Bill…
