Amsterdam's Infamous 'Beer Bikes' Are Now Banned, Too Many Loose Units
Amsterdam is synonymous with many things, but if you've travelled through the Dutch capital then you've probably come across a 'Beer Bike'.
According to reports from Parool, the tourist attraction - which is basically just balancing pedalling and drinking - is now banned around most of the city centre due to rowdy customers causing noise and "dangeours anti-social activity".
The city's Mayor released statement explaining the decision, "The ban includes parts of the city where there are most complaints of nuisance (the Haarlemmerbuurt and canal rink) and areas where it is very likely to be affected by traffic disruption and problems (the station area, Jordaan, 1012 postcode area, entertainment squares and the east of the old town)."
The ban comes after 6,000 locals signed a petition to the city council to limit the amount of beer and banning music aboard.
