New Zealand Edges Out Australia In The Top 10 Happiest Countries In The World
Looks like we're moving to Europe.
The World Happiness Report collated by the U.N. Sustainable Development Solutions Network, was dominated by nordic countries in 2018 with Finland taking out the number one slot.
According to the report's co-editor John Helliwell, a major contributing factor was the happiness of each population's immigrants.
"The most striking finding of the report is the remarkable consistency between the happiness of immigrants and the locally born. Those who move to happier countries gain, while those who move to less happy countries lose," Helliwell explained.
Without further ado, here are the Top 10 happiest countries, ranked out of 156, on key factors including health, social demographics and politics.
8. New Zealand
While Australia slipped to tenth position behind Sweden, New Zealand stayed strong in eighth place due to overall quality of life and positive migration legislation.
So dw if you don't have the cash to spring for a flight to the Northern Lights - we've got it pretty great at home.
