MTV Upload Of The Week: Ruel 'Golden Years'
15-year-old Sydney singer-songwriter, Ruel, is the next big Aussie name set to take over the world, so if you don't already know his name, you're about to!
Discovered in 2015 by Grammy award-winning producer M-Phazes, Ruel has already carved out a unique sound for himself – think James Blake with a pop edge – and he’s getting global recognition. Ruel supported Khalid on his sold-out Australian tour and even found a fan in Elton John, who gushed over his debut single ‘Don’t Tell Me’ on his Beats 1 radio show, Rocket Hour.
His latest single ‘Golden Years’ has clocked up over three million streams and is only going to get bigger as Ruel took the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony to a climatic finish earlier this week. As if all this wasn’t impressive enough, music’s most ambitious teenager has also signed a deal with RCA Records in the U.S and plans to release a debut EP later this year.
