Vanessa Hudgens Is Copping Sh*t For 'Insensitive' Post About The Devastating LA Wildfire
In times of crisis celebrities often use their huge social media platforms to create awareness, raise money and help those desperately in need. And then sometimes those celebrities completely miss the mark and post a hot #TBT instead.
As devastating wildfires ravage Los Angeles today, Vanessa Hudgens thought it would be a good idea to post a cute picture under the guise of spreading awareness about the natural disaster.
The image was a throwback to her film 'Sucker Punch' and she captioned it with, "Prayers these freaking fires stooooooop 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 #throwback #suckerpunch".
While the goodwill sentiment was there, unfortunately it came across as completely tone deaf. Needless to say quite a few of her followers picked up on this and were quick to let her know of her poor judgement.
We're all for using fame for a good cause but trying to piggyback some self-promotion gets a hard pass from us.
With that in mind, while we've got you if you want to help out the people of Southern California - 200 of them who have now lost their homes - you can donate to the Red Cross here.
