2009 BET Awards - Michael Jackson Tribute

Tune in this Sunday from 2:30pm for the BET Awards MJ Tribute and the MTV Exclusive Michael Jackson: King Of Pop Special...

Held on Sunday June 28, and hosted by Jamie Foxx, the 2009 BET Awards (Black Entertainment Television) celebrates outstanding entertainment in the African American/ Community.

In a matter of days, the 2009 BET Awards shifted gears in order to change its theme to honour the life, legacy and legend of music icon, Michael Jackson.

The entertainment community rallied behind the Jackson family as they paid homage to the great artist. Michael’s sister, Janette gives an emotional and heartfelt speech on behalf of the Jackson family, just days after his death. The Awards also feature tribute performances by; Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Mary Mary and Soulja Boy. The 2009 BET Awards also honours Alicia Keys and Wyclef Jean, while handing out gongs in categories for music, sports and film.
