It’s not often one gets to hurtle round the back streets of West Sydney suburb Liverpool in a black police-style T.W.A.T van, but that’s exactly the situation MTV’s Creative team found themselves in when they were asked to create a campaign for Canesoral Duo thrush treatment.
Thrush is a common infection caused by yeast-like fungi, which affects thousands of women around the country. The symptoms can include itching, burning and general discomfort; and it’s surprising to know just how common it is for woman of all ages.
Even more surprising; many women don’t know how easy it is to treat. Traditionally, the treatment is administered through either creams or tablets, but Canesoral Duo combines both to give immediate effective relief, and then prevent it reoccurring.
The treatment of thrush isn’t something that typically pops up in day to day conversation, so just how do you go about tackling a subject that is usually reserved for mother-daughter talks? Well, that was the creative challenge for the MTV creative team!
The hilarious, albeit disarmingly realistic clip follows a day in the life of a local Thrush Weapons and Tactics (T.W.A.T) team. They’ve been called to a hostage situation in suburbia – can the T.W.A.T team rescue Patricia from an uncomfortable fate?
The mockumentary involving a Canesoral Duo thrush treatment was originally inspired by MTV shows like The Hills, and Bedroom Diaries,” says Kate Davitt, MTV’s creative services manager. “And eventually, we came up with the idea of creating a mockumentary which could be distributed virally as well as seen on MTV,” adds, writer and director Nicholas Hansen.
“It will be interesting to see how it works commercially.” says Kate. “Canesoral has been gutsy in going with this idea and if anything is going to resonate with our MTV audience, this is!”
Check out the hilarious video here, and remember, if you’re suffering from Thrush, treatment is just an easy two step solution away.
