Vivid Sydney Announce 2018 Program & Here Are The 10 Must-See Highlights
LIGHT IT UP FAM.
Vivid Sydney just announced it's 2018 program, which is set to kick off May 25 - June 16, and we have all the top highlights you cannot miss.
1. Snuggle Pot & Cuddle Pie
To celebrate the Centennary of the May Gibbs classic and the return of Customs House to Vivid's program, Snuggle Pot & Cuddle Pie will be projected onto the iconic Circular Quay landmark for little and big kids alike.
2. Luna Park
For the very first time Luna Park will light up along with the rest of the harbour in 'The Spirit of Fun'. The installation will tell the story of the Sydney institution transporting visitors into a 3D experience.
3. Ice Cube
N.W.A rapper and straight up fkn legend Ice Cube will make his Opera House debut. Never thought we'd type that sentence. After the worldwide success of Straight Outta Compton (album and film), we can't wait to see the OG in action.
4. Heaps Gay
You better believe the Qweens Ball is one of our highlights of this stellar program. Heaps Gay always turns it up - so why not hold a special party on The Queen's Birthday long weekend. Get it Liz. Fancy dress, Miss Blanks - do we really need to say any more?
5. James Cameron
It's Light, Music and Ideas after all - so why not invite iconic filmmaker James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar) to talk about movies, marine life, and advising NASA. This will definitely sell out.
Straight from Burning Man, AQUEOUS is here to blow your mind by inviting particpants to run and walk the shifting coloured pathway. Each step is interactive and will enourage you to jump and play as an individual or in groups.
7. Vivid Music
St Vincent, Vera Blue, Alison Wonderland and the debut of Dreams - a new collaboration between Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns and Luke Steele - just to name a few.
8. Lea Delaria
She's not just a celebrated actor: Orange Is The New Black's Lea 'Boo' Delaria is bringing jazz to the forefront in a LIVE concert. For one night only at City Recital Hall, her energy is electric and not to miss.
9. Harbour Lights
We mean, standard. But in its tenth year you know Vivid Sydney is going to bring it with the harbour lights display. Catch a ferry and see it from a whole new vantage point.
End. Of. We're still not over this. And you won't be either if you miss out on tickets to her ONLY Australian shows.
Head to Vivid Sydney's official website for the full lineup!
Don't forget Lights On is 6pm on May 25, with Sydney lighting up every night after until June 16.
