Stars Remember Whitney
The biggest names in entertainment have paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston, leaving messages of love and remembrance across social media.
“Heartbroken and in tears over the shocking death of my friend, the incomparable Ms. Whitney Houston” wrote pop diva Mariah Carey.
“My heartfelt condolences to Whitney's family and to all her millions of fans throughout the world. She will never be forgotten as one of the greatest voices to ever grace the earth.”
Jazz legend Tony Bennet took to his official website, writing:
“It’s a tragedy. Whitney Houston was the greatest singer I’ve ever heard and she will be truly missed.”
RnB soulstress Alicia Keys wrote “I feel sick.... Life is precious, we are fragile souls. Let's love each other! I miss you beautiful Whitney, the whole world misses you!!”
Fellow singer Barbra Streisand wrote on her Twitter account:
"She had everything, beauty, a magnificent voice. How sad her gifts could not bring her the same happiness they brought us."
And a host of current chart-topping artists have also shared their grief over the loss of Houston, who died on Saturday at the age of 48.
“So devastating. We will always love you Whitney, R.I.P.” wrote Katy Perry.
“No words! Just tears #DearWhitney” shared Rihanna.
“Whitney was the reason many of us do what we do. ‘a few stolen moments is all that we share’ RIP” continued Pink.
"I found my voice singing Whitney Houston's music. Today I lost my idol," wrote Jessica Simpson.
Whitney is set to be honoured at the 2012 Grammy Awards, which are currently taking place in Los Angeles.
