One Kiwi Bloke Got So Drunk That He Sold His Car & Reported It Stolen The Next Day
Alcohol and bad decisions go hand-in-hand, and one kiwi bloke's story is definitive proof of that.
A New Zealand man got so blackout drunk that he forgot he sold his own car and ended up reporting it stolen to police the next day.
The Rotorua local ran out of money during his weekend bender and decided to sell his wheels for $800, so he could buy more booze.
After having one-too-many, he forgot all about the sale and reported the vehicle missing at a nearby police station.
"Thankfully the man who bought the car checked the registration the next day on the CarJam website as he was worried it might be stolen," Sergeant Dennis Murphy told the NZ Herald.
The police realised what had happened and got in touch with the original owner. The two men were then told to sort it out between themselves.
So yeah, maybe think twice before you sell anything while you're drunk, and don't drink and buy either. You don't need that pillow with Nicholas Cage's face on it.
