The Kiwis Who Built A Sand Island To Avoid NYE Liquor Ban Have Gone Viral
By now, you've probably heard all about these 'legendary' kiwis who managed to outsmart Coromandel Peninsula's liquor ban.
ICYMI, the group spent NYE building an 'island' in Tairua estuary, in order to avoid the ban.
Well, they're now making headlines across the globe and are being praised for their "creative thinking".
GQ have even gone as far to call them heroic.
According to Stuff, they reportedly said that the rules didn't apply to them because they were "in international waters".

Waikato eastern area commander Inspector John Kelly revealed police weren't aware of their ingenious idea.
