This Is What The Infamous 'Chk-Chk Boom' Girl Is Up To Now
Remember the 'chk-chk boom girl'?
She was the 19-year-old girl who went viral in 2009 for her 'eyewitness account' of a shooting in Kings Cross.
Here's a refresher, in case you've forgotten (Clare's interview starts around the 10 second mark):
Well, her actual name is Clare Werbeloff, and according to her former manager, she's not keen to become an overnight celeb again.
During an interiew with the Mumbrellacast podcast, talent manager Max Markson said, "Clare doesn't want to know about doing anything [media related]"
"I get calls still, 'Will Clare do this? Will Clare do that?' I've spoke to her and she doesn't want to do anything."
"I think she's doing...not social work, but care...or speech therapy. She's got a proper job [and has] a proper life."
Following her iconic interview, Clare scored an interview on A Current Affair and even landed the cover of now defunct lad's mag, Ralph.
In an interview on Sunrise, Clare was asked about the video being perceived as "racist" because of her use of the word "wog."
"No one's ever done that on the news before, and no one's ever been politically incorrect, like I was, apparently."
"I'm not a racist, and I did not mean any racist remarks by what I said," she said.
During that 2009 interview, Clare said she always wanted to be famous and said she would love to be a "million dollar singer", a TV presenter, and start a makeup line.
Despite later signing with manager Max, it sounds like Clare changed her tune and was quite happy for her 15 minutes to be over.
May the 'chk-chk boom' girl and all the early remixes live on forever in our hearts...
