The popular YouTuber had been missing since last Wednesday after posting a cryptic video in which he apologised to his subscribers for "leaving such a stained legacy."
"I hope that my story maybe helps to make YouTube a better place in the future where people know boundaries and limits and how far things should go," he said in the video.
I’m truly devestated and tbh I’m just in denial right now. I can’t really accept that you’re gone. I’ll always remember the joy you brought me. #Etika #ripetika @Etika @lookner pic.twitter.com/Z66E9kG5rr

Last year, Amofah's YouTube account was terminated for "multiple severe violations of YouTube's policy on nudity or sexual content." Afterwards, he posted a concerning message to Reddit which in part read, "And now, it's my turn to die. I love you all."
The same year, Amofah also live-streamed a standoff with police in Brooklyn after he reportedly threatened to harm himself.
Fans of Amofah who was also known as Etika, have started a Change.org petition to have his channel restored so they can remember his legacy.
