Zac Efron Is A True Blue Aussie Now

This pic proves it.

Zac Efron has shared the first look at his new Stan Original flick, Gold, via an Instagram post, and he looks pretty ocker. True Zefronites would know that this pic is the first he's shared on his Instagram in four whole months.

In the pic, Zefron can be seen, dust-covered and with a beard, sitting under a makeshift tent pitched from a tree, with not another soul in sight. "No signal out here in the desert…" he captioned the shot, along with the hashtags, #goldonstan and #behindthescenes.

Gold, if you didn't know, is why Zefron left his adopted home of Byron for South Australia a few weeks ago (and subsequently got stuck in SA's lockdown, much to local's glee) he's shooting the Anthony Hayes-directed thriller there – which also stars Polly Smyth and Susie Porter – likely for the next couple months.

The film will reportedly follow two strangers travelling through a desert as they come across the biggest nugget of gold supposedly ever found. According to Deadline, the pair devise a plan to protect and excavate their loot, with one man leaving to get the equipment and the other man left to endure harsh desert elements and the sneaking suspicion his mate might not be coming back after all. Spooky!

The last we heard of Zac, he was squashing rumours he and new Aussie girlfriend Vanessa Valladares had split with a fresh slew of paparazzi pics showing the two of them together after a workout in SA.

Just a week before, rumours had swirled that they called it quits after their whirlwind, five-month romance. A source had told tabloids that, "sadly, fate wasn't on their side" and that "Zac's work and the enforced distance has really its toll". Clearly not, guys. Crisis averted, Zac's likely to hang around in Aus for a fair while longer.

Gold will premiere on Stan and in cinemas next year.
