Kanye West Has Unfollowed Kim Kardashian On Twitter

Just another day in the Kimye breakup saga...

Sometimes, a breakup calls for lying face down on the floor listening to Olivia Rodrigo articulately express every one of your innermost feelings; sometimes it calls for buying a ton of sex toys or jumping back on the dating apps. Whatever your coping method, there’s one trick that I’d go as far as saying is essential in getting over someone: unfollowing them on social media. And Kanye West agrees with me.

Despite not using social media much, Kanye West still took a moment to jump on Twitter and undertake the age-old breakup ritual, unfollowing not just his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, but the entire Kardashian family. (Note: Kanye still follows Kim on Instagram – she's the only person he follows – but Twitter is Ye’s go-to so an unfollow on other platforms could be likely imminent.)

Kim Kardashian, meanwhile, is taking a different approach. (I think they call it the high ground?) Kim is what I consider to be the most gracious ex on the planet. She recently wished Kanye a happy birthday by posting an adorable photo on Instagram of the two of them and their children together. She is also reportedly unbothered by the huge news that Kanye may be dating Russian supermodel Irina Shayk. The maturity!

I know that news of an unfollow might seem relatively small fry, but Kimye’s relationship has been a major media obsession for the better part of a decade. These guys know what they’re doing, and any and all of their post-divorce actions, even when subtle, are actually enormous moves. Kim is the daughter of Kris Jenner, after all.

So is it cold of Kanye to unfollow all the Kardashians? Or is he just cleansing the timeline? With the family’s massive profile, it’s unlikely that Kanye can avoid all instances of seeing Kardashian news, but unfollowing might be a good start.

During the final season of KUWTK, Kim opened up about the divorce, speaking to Momager Kris Jenner about how her relationship was missing “the little things”.

“I’ve achieved 10 times more than I thought was humanly possible. But I don’t have a life to share that with. I never thought I was lonely… After turning 40 this year, I realised, no, I don’t want a husband that lives in a completely different state.”

Man, breakups are tough. I’ll keep you across all the inevitable updates.
