REPORTS: Ellen Owns Up To Being Quite Shit In An Emotional Video Call To Staff

Ellen has had another crack at apologising to her staff, this time on video.

Word on the street (by which we mean, uh, a report from People Magazine) is that Ellen DeGeneres has had a second crack at apologising to her staff.

For the uninitiated, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been serving up a heady mix of drama and intrigue lately, and not in a good way. Accusations that the show’s shiny ‘be kind’ ethos is actually a front for rampant bullying, discrimination and sexual harassment led to an investigation being conducted by WarnerMedia a few weeks ago. Since then, Ellen sent an apology email to staff, reportedly thought about jumping ship and had a bunch of celebrities insist that she’s never been a meanie to them. As always, celebs, thanks for weighing in.

Her first apology didn’t vibe super well with the public, given that she pretty much blamed everyone but herself for the abusiveness of her own workplace.

But in the wise words of…wait, was it Elmo? “Try, try again!"  On a zoom call to her team on Monday, Ellen reportedly admitted she “wasn’t perfect”. “I’m a multi-layered person, and I try to be the best person I can be and I try to learn from my mistakes”, she allegedly said

“I’m hearing that some people felt I wasn’t kind or too short with them, or too impatient. I apologise to anybody if I’ve hurt your feelings in any way”, she apparently continued. Reports have it that Ellen was super emotional during the call and keen to make things better. How wonderful. BTW, an Ellen tweet from 2009 went viral this morning. We'll just leave that here.

Something tells me that this isn't over quite yet.
