WATCH: Chance The Rapper Unearthed A Major Throwback Vid Of Pre-Famous Lizzo Interviewing Him In 2012
She’s one of the hottest artists on the planet at the moment, but Lizzo has worked hard for that success.
In fact, she used to be doing the groundwork interviewing big names in hip hop before hustling her way to the top.
Chance the Rapper has shared one of those interviews on his Instagram, captioning the priceless video with, “anybody recognize the woman interviewing me?? Give you a hint we’re playing the same Houston festival in a couple weeks and have the same number of GRAMMYs.”
The 2012 video shows Lizzo and Chance in a tiny room, post-show as Lizzo impresses the rapper with her knowledge of style and influences as she lists artists like Beirut and Waka Flocka.
Chance gushes over the interview in his caption, saying he remembers it “like it was yesterday and it was EIGHT years ago.”
“Wow man. I’ve watched Lizzo work her ass off to become the biggest act in the world and it was nothing but her and her day 1 bestfriends’ hard work, and her own God given Talent,” he praised.
Lizzo was nominated for eight Grammys this year, taking three home.
