Tati Westbrook Has Absolutely Dragged James Charles In Wild New Video
YouTube drama is always bloody off the richter, but this one might have taken the cake.
OG beauty guru or ~beautuber~ Tati Westbrook has posted a 40+ minute video dragging, slamming, ripping into and condeming the behaviour of fellow ~beautuber~ James Charles and there simply is not enough popcorn in the world.
For a bit of backstory, Tati has been in the game for a while and she was like a mentor to James, and those are James' words. But all this drama apparently started over Sugar Bear Hair gummies, because of course it did.
Sugar Bear Hair gummies are a competitor to Tati's own hair supplements made with her company, Halo Beauty. So, when "good friend" Charles made a sponsored post with Sugar Bear, you know that it raised more than a few eyebrows.
Tati took to Instagram initially to say that felt "betrayed and lost", while not revealing anything about the situation or who it was about. But YouTube audiences are basically FBI agents without the paycheck, so it didn't take long for these people to put two and two together.
Charles responded, apologising for hurting her friend and said "she has been like a mother to me since my first days in this industry and has given me more love, support, resources and advice than I could ever ask for."
BUT THE SITUATION WAS NOT DONE YET, OH NO.
Fellow ~beautuber~ Gabriel Zamora - who Tati clarifies she has no relationship with - said on social media that he doesn't know why James is being made out to be the bad guy, and thinks Tati is doing this as some form of promotion for herself and Halo Beauty.
Well, Tati has well and truly SNAPPEDT. Uploading a video called 'Bye Sister' (get it?), she gives a complete and uncensored rundown of her side of the story, why she has all these problems with James and why she no longer wishes to be friends with him.
They range from the vitamin debacle to James not reciprocating their friendship the way he should have to him being grateful and selfish. They also dive into more serious topics like hurtful things he has said about other ~beautubers~ and even incidents where James has said he's going to try to hook up with straight men, regardless of their sexuality.
On top of that, Tati also said that she found out James has been selling the story out to drama channels (kill me) to try and paint him in a positive light, which we assume was her breaking point.
James, who is actually currently in Australia, posted an 8 minute apology video, and he sounds like he is pretty sincerely sorry for the situation. He also said that he probably didn't show as much gratefulness as he should have, and he says he doesn't blame Tati for wanting to cut the friendship off.
"I hate knowing that I disappointed...two people who have been role models to me," he said, referring to Tati and her husband James.
