Kanye West’s Opera 'Nebuchadnezzar' Went Down Over The Weekend Minus Kanye West

...

Kanye West’s original opera, Nebuchadnezzar, graced the stage of the Hollywood Bowl and yup, the production couldn’t have been more Kanye if it tried.

The epic performance featured Yeezy’s Sunday Service choir, Peter Collins and Infinity’s Song and took place over three parts.

LOOK. AT. THAT. We can’t deny this would be a pretty holy experience to check out, but audience members wanting to watch 'Ye go full Susan Boyle on us might have walked away disappointed; the rapper apparently only appeared for the final bow.

However, his iconic voice peppered the show as the narrator as he read from the Book of Daniel – classic Ye playing the God voice…

Some of Kanye’s classics even made it into the show as a little Easter egg for all his non-opera fans.

According to Pitchfork, there were a few stumbles along the way, such as the lead actor Sheck Wes forgetting to fall on his face as Kanye repetitively narrated “fell upon his face” thrice over to prompt the actor while chuckling. The audience apparently had a good laugh too.

The show also started two hours after the originally scheduled time – we’re sure Kanye didn’t think he was late though and everyone was probably early…

We’re sure this experience brought a lot of new fans to opera! Brad Pitt and Chance The Rapper were even apparently in attendance, and we’d follow them to any show they attend.
