Doja Cat’s 2021 MTV VMAs Performance Takes Her To New Heights

In case both hosting and being nominated at the 2021 MTV VMAs wasn’t enough, Doja Cat also took some time to perform two ‘Planet Her’ tracks – “Been Into It” and “You Right”. And what she gave was both stunning and unexpected.

Most people would be too busy to deliver a VMAs performance if they’re up for five nominations AND on hosting duties, but then again, most people aren’t Doja Cat. Last year, she dominated the stage with her knockout version of “Say So”, and this year, Doja doubled down on last year’s magic with her sans-Weeknd version of “You Right”.’

But before she broke into that, she dropped a high-flying performance of ‘Planet Her’ standout “Been Into This”. With a dazzling light that circled around her, Doja floated in the sky dressed in all red and gave a sultry and sensual rendition of the track.

When she finally touched ground, she was flanked by two dancers and performed an enthralling routine that has to be seen to be believed. Doja Cat has gained a reputation for always keeping her performances fresh, but they’re usually incredibly upbeat and high energy. This time round, she still gave it her all, but delivered an even more refined and transfixing performance showing a new, perhaps upgraded Doja Cat.
