Forbes Says Kim, Like Kylie, Is Not A Billionaire After All

She's only worth $900 million, apparently.

Forbes is not loosening its grip on the Kardashian-Jenners finances ever again. Two months after calling out Kylie Jenner for supposedly lying about her billionaire status in her now-infamous "self-made billionaire" profile, the publication is accusing Kim Kardashian of similar shifty behaviour.

In case you missed it, Kim Kardashian West, 39, was reported round the world to have become a billionaire on Monday, after selling a 20% stake in KKW Beauty to beauty conglomerate Coty for US$200 million. Soon after, Forbes published an article that disputed the billionaire status, saying Kim was not worth US$1 billion after all. She, like younger half-sis Kylie, was actually probably only worth $900 million, the publication estimated.

(We would also like to briefly bring your attention to Kanye's ode to Kim's newfound status which was also very bizzare.)

Anyway, Forbes calling out Kim for perhaps inflating her numbers, or at least not actively disputing the billionaire rumours, is even more interesting considering the whole Kylie fiasco in May. Back then, the publication had announced it was stripping the 22-year-old of her “youngest self-made billionaire” title after they’d discovered she’d apparently been lying about her net worth.

"Kylie's business is significantly smaller, and less profitable, than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets, including Forbes, to believe," the mag wrote at the time. "Forbes now thinks that Kylie Jenner, even after pocketing an estimated $US340 million ($509 million) after taxes from the sale, is not a billionaire." The publication re-estimated the net worth of Kylie at around $US900 million.

Tabloids also said the Kylie Cosmetics founder could face up to five years in jail(!) for investment fraud, should she have submitted different docs to Forbes, the IRS, and Coty, the company that bought the majority stake of Kylie Cosmetics – and the same company that Kim just sold a stake of KKW Beauty to.

Neither Kylie nor Kim has yet to comment on the Forbes situation, but Kylie did send out a few tweets back in May, including one that read: “I’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER. period”

Yikes. Guess the Kardashian-Jenners won't be giving Forbes an exclusive anytime soon.
