Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker Are MGK & Megan Fox In A Different Font
I don't think I'm being rude when I say there are some celebrities who are essentially, for all intents and purposes, in effect, the same person. Like Sarah Hyland and Mila Kunis. Or Amy Adams and Isla Fisher. I know what you're thinking. They're 'different people' from 'different countries', but is it my fault they don't distinguish themselves from each other enough for me to separate them in my brain? I think not.
As it turns out, there are also couples who are pretty much identical. I'm talking of course of Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, and Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. These two couples inhabit the exact same part of my brain, so when I heard that the two went on a double date, I'm pretty sure I felt something break.
While The Cut notes the merging of both couples is 'chaotic', I will add that it is 'haunting'. First, there's their aesthetic similarities. Like our writer Dani Leever observed, both couples blend contrasting worlds: Punk meets polished. Gritty meets pretty. They're both the couple from Avril Lavigne's "Sk8r Boi" except he was good enough for her. (Twist!)
The two pairs even project the same energy. Notice their reactions to a camera swinging across both couples' tables at this very 'merican-looking UFC show. While both Megan and Kourtney don't look thrilled to have a camera in their face, MGK and Travis are completely unbothered by it; taking to the camera like an old friend.
And not to be a buzzkill, but these group hangs need to stop. I mean, haven't these people seen Jordan Peele's Us? Read Dostoevsky's The Double? (Ok neither have I). Doppelgängers have always been a bad omen, people. No good can come of this.
I'm joking. I hope they had a nice time. But if I ever clock my doppelgänger? I'm running the other way.
