Oh Sh*t Music Festivals Are Coming To Area 51 & They’re Not A Hoax
It was all just fun and games, but it actually looks like the ‘Storm Area 51’ festivals are legit?!
ICYMI, earlier this year, Facebook user Matty Roberts created a fake event called ‘Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All Of Us’, which calls for attendees to “meet up in Rural Nevada and coordinate our parties… Let’s see them aliens.”
And ICYMI (or have been living under a rock), Area 51 is a military base northwest of Las Vegas that is believed to house a warehouse of crashed UFOs, have all the intel on aliens and be the birthplace of government cover-ups.
Spooky stuff, kids.
Roberts’ event has had over 2 MILLION people click attending, which led this entrepreneur to actually follow through.
Two festivals are supposedly taking place in the Nevada desert over the September 20th weekend, including Roberts’ very own festival Alienstock, and you better believe people are actually booking their flights.
Alienstock will take place just outside of Rachel, Nevada and Storm Area 51 Basecamp in Hiko, Nevada; both promising camping, food and live music.
According to Vice, spokesperson for Storm Area 51 Basecamp Emily Wofford has said the festival is “focused on providing both an entertainment and education experience for those fascinated by Area 51 and UFO technology. We are working to create a Burning Man meets Comic Con experience for both believers and the uninitiated.”
Well SIGN US UP! It’s unconfirmed if the events will actually go ahead (and if they’ve received their proper permits) but it’s safe to say we’re getting restless with what’s in that high-security compound in the middle of the American desert.
That’s right, it’s time to bang down the doors of the most secretive extra-terrestrial activity known to man – who knows what it’ll unleash! Perhaps this is the beginning of Stranger Things IRL.
