Just A Full Insta-Stalk Of The 23 Women Vying For Locky’s Heart On The Bachelor
The most wonderful time of the year – Bachie season – is nearly upon us with the first The Bachelor episode dropping tonight on Channel Ten. This year, Survivor alum Locky Gilbert bravely stepped up to the difficult task of getting to know 23 eligible women.
In our chat with him earlier this week, he confirmed he had indeed found love, saying he was “super happy with the outcome”. Locky also spoke about how hard it was to choose between the women so quickly, calling the process “brutal” and “heartbreaking.” You can read the full chat here.
In the meantime, here’s a look at the 23 Bachelor 2020 contestants:
Bella, 25, Media Buyer, NSW
Bella says she tends to fall in love quickly, but often finds herself getting the “you’re the person I want to end up with, but I’m just not ready for that right now”. She’s passionate about environmental conservation, and spends most of her time by the ocean.
Areeba 25, Home Loan Officer, NSW
Areeba says her perfect man is “funny and sarcastic, yet gentle and caring” too. She says a deal breaker for her would be if a guy is “disrespectful to my family, doesn’t like my dog, or if he is not funny.” Personality, she says, is “everything.”
Bel 25, Media Buyer, NSW
A country girl, Bel says her “free nature and loyalty” will make her stand out to the Bachelor. She says the most romantic thing a guy has done for her is buy her a chicken burger and rose for Valentine’s Day (?) and take her paragliding in the Austrian Alps.
Charley, 25, P.E. Teacher, QLD
A proud Indigenous woman, PE teacher Charley says she’s tired of her students telling her to get a boyfriend. She says she plans to woo Locky by being her “absolute and whole self”, adding that “the best thing for any relationship is to love the person for being exactly themselves.”
Clare, 26, Admin Assistant, WA
A big fan of dad jokes, Clare says her ideal man is someone who’s “family orientated, likes to have a good laugh – even at their own expense – and someone who is truly your best friend.” After years of putting relos on the backburner, she says she’s looking for the kind of love her parents have.
Leilani, 27, Partnerships Manager, NSW
Leilani says she’s been on the dating apps, but “for one reason or another it just hasn’t lasted long term.” Now, though, she says she’ll take the “all or nothing approach to love” and would be up for traveling anywhere for it.
Gemma, 28, Property Manager, QLD
A keen traveller – she’s been to over 40 countries – Gemma says she’s “passionate about spreading positivity throughout the world.” She says her dream date would by something by the water, but thinks “laughing and having a good time” and “good banter” are what matter most.
Georgie, 32, Project Manager, Tasmania
A single mum of two, Georgie says she has a good feeling “this year is her year to find love.” Her ideal man would give her butterflies, make her feel loved and be someone who “greatly values the people in his life.”
Irena, 31, Nurse, VIC
With her parents getting married 10 days after meeting, Irena is firm believer that love can be found in the most unexpected ways. She says she’s looking a relo “built on honesty, good home cooked meals” and “fun and exciting adventures.”
Izzy, 29, H.R. Advisor, QLD
Energetic Izzy says she’s happy with everything in her life ATM, but now wants to find someone to share it with. A deal breaker for her would be a guy who’s a “Trump supporter.”
Juliette, 34, Stylist, NSW
Single for 11 years, Juliette says she’s hoping to find the kind of love her parents have experienced. She says her dream date would be a beach swim or boat trip, “dinner with water views, theme parks, going out for a dance or to a gig.”
Kristina, 24, PhD Scholar, WA
Kristina reckons she’s been single long enough and is excited to “get back on the love bandwagon.” She says she’s looking for a man who will keep her on her toes, but still respects her at the same time. “He’s got to win my win heart as much as I’m going to win his,” she adds.
Laura, 24, Marketing Co-ordinator, WA
A self-described “sassy little Italian gal”, Laura says she appreciates the finer things in life and is after a guy who’s put together, and has “similar interests, passions and values” to hers.
Maddy, 25, Teacher, Tasmania
After four years of being single, Maddy says she wants to change tactics on finding love. She calls The Bachelor her favourite show, and says she loves the fact “girls on the show always get to experience such fun and adventurous dates.”
Marg, 23, Car Sales Consultant, VIC
Describing herself as a “hopeless romantic”, Marg says her “large Greek family” are constantly pressuring her to find a man. She says she’s “clueless” when it comes to dating and is “very picky.”
Marlaina, 31, Fundraising Co-ordinator, VIC
With Marlaina’s border collie Annie her “official approver of dates”, she says being with someone who doesn’t like dogs isn’t an option. She says that when the realised online dating and dating IRL weren’t working for her, she “with a glass of wine one night” thought “wine not?”.
Nadine, 30, Entrepreneur, Victoria
Originally from Lebanon, Nadine says she applied for the show because it was “the right time.” She admits to “being a little crazy at times”, but says Locky “might like it or hate it at the same time.”
Nicole, 26, Professional Dancer, NSW
While Nicole is officially a professional dancer, she says her real talent is assembling flat pack furniture. She describes herself as “quiet and reserved at first”, but says that once she’s comfortable, she can be “quite confident, fun loving” and “energetic.”
Paige, 31, Model, VIC
A country girl-turned-model, Paige reckons she can be a “bit of a prankster.” In 10 years, she sees herself “in a loving relationship” and “living on a little property with goats” with a family of her own.
Rosemary, 23, Retail Manager, QLD
Also a farm girl, Rosemary describes herself as “super bubbly”, “quirky”, and says she never takes herself too seriously. She admits to sometimes being too honest, speaking without a filter and swearing. “But I’m working on that!” she says.
Roxi, 29, Mechanical Engineer, QLD
Roxi reckons she’s still single because she’s not putting herself out there enough. Her only prerequisite is that a guy can’t be smarter than she is, and that he lets her win all their arguments.
Steph, 26, Special Needs Teacher, VIC
Steph describes herself as a “great storyteller with a back catalogue of hilarious anecdotes.” She’s after a man who “isn’t afraid to get dirty in the outdoors” and hopes the show will help her find her soul mate.
Zoe-Clare, 23, Sales Manager, QLD
Tired of dating “losers”, Zoe-Clare now wants a “real man” who shares her family’s love of sport. She plans on winning Locky’s heart by allowing him to see how much she cares about her family and the people she loves.
