Lady Gaga Calls Out The ‘F–king Boys Club’ Music Industry

Preach

Lady Gaga proves time and time again that she’s a total badass. This time, she’s calling out the music industry for being a “f–king boys club.”

During her acceptance speech for the Woman of the Year honor at this year’s Billboard Women in Music event in New York City on Friday, Gaga took the opportunity to testify to the difficulties facing women in the biz.

“What I really want to say is that it is really hard sometimes for women in music,” she said. “It’s like a f–king boys club that we just can’t get in to.” And the crowd went wild.

The Countess described her own struggles in the industry (that she completely crushed, btw).

“I tried for so long, I just really wanted to be taken seriously as a musician for my intelligence more than my body ever in this business,” adding, “You don’t always feel like when you’re working that people believe that you have musical background, that you understand what you’re doing because you’re a female.”

Gaga’s been through it, but she’s come out on top in 2015 as Billboard’s Woman of the Year, the star of “American Horror Story: Hotel” and a Grammy nominee for “Til It Happens To You,” a song she co-wrote for “The Hunting Ground,” a documentary about campus rape.
