Rihanna is an undeniable legend. Not only does she have a back catalogue of 100% bangers to her name, she’s the first woman of colour to run a major fashion luxury brand, has a wildly successful make-up range and breaks the internet every time she posts a pic of herself. (Same.)
So it’s with great pleasure that we can confirm Rihanna is officially a billionaire, according to Forbes. Her net worth is estimated at $US1.7 billion ($AU2.3 billion), which makes her the wealthiest female musician in the world.
She’s the second wealthiest female entertainer, second only to fellow icon Oprah Winfrey.
Despite Rihanna’s songs being certified bangers that stand the test of time, Forbes reported that the bulk of Rihanna’s fortune comes from the value of Fenty Beauty, which Rihanna owns 50% of. She also makes a bucket load of cash from her lingerie company Savage x Fenty, which is worth an estimated $270 million.
And yes – we miss her music too. It’s been five long years since her iconic album ANTI, but give the gal a break. She’s running a couple of pretty busy businesses; plus she’s literally trying to save the world, okay?!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she’s donated over $700,000 to Barbadian medical facilities, purchased protective gear for New York, donated $5m to various charities fighting the virus, as well as $2.1m to the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles to assist victims of domestic violence affected by lockdown orders.
In 2019, it was announced Rihanna was the richest female musician in the world, and she’s now taken that title into billionaire status.
Meanwhile, cringe-worthy male billionaires Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are in a fight to be richer and more in-space than the other. So while Rihanna is saving the world, those two can just… go do that.
