In yet another instalment of ‘what’s happening with the Lizzie McGuire reboot’ drama, Hilary Duff told People on Monday talks for the Disney+ show are in fact still happening.

“There’s still conversations going on in hopes that we can find a way to meet in the middle and both bend a little bit,” the mum-of-two said. “I understand that they have to protect their brand and there’s pretty strict guidelines on what that looks like.”

She added: “I just have to make sure it’s the right move for me and that I feel like I’m honouring her and the character, and that it will be relatable to the people who grew up with her because those are the people I really want to speak to.”

If that wasn’t enough of a tease, some of the original cast members were then recently snapped together in a Zoom call. 

So, yeah, looks like Lizzie & Crew all grown-up may eventually be gracing our screens.

If you’d been following the whole saga, talks for the D+ show first began swirling early this year. Duff, however, in March took to Insta to explain that while she was excited for the reboot, she essentially wanted to make sure that adult Lizzie would be portrayed as, well, an adult.

“I’d be doing a disservice to everyone by limiting the realities of a 30 year old’s journey to live under the ceiling of a PG rating,” she wrote.

“It’s important to me that just as her experiences as a preteen/teenager navigating life were authentic, her next chapters are equally as real and relatable.”

Tbh, all this drama might even be better than the reboot itself? Nah. Nothing could be better than Lizzie McGuire.
