'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' Is Ending After 20 Seasons, Bible

It's the end of an era after it was announced today that Keeping Up With The Kardashians will come to a close after 20 seasons on the air.

And that’s a wrap! After a whopping 20 seasons, Keeping Up With The Kardashians will finally stop airing. The Kardashian-Jenner family and E!, the network responsible for the show, made the announcement today (Tuesday in the US) via E! Online and Instagram.

“It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Keeping Up with the Kardashians. After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and several spin-off shows, we've decided as a family to end this very special journey,” the family wrote on social media.

“We are beyond grateful to all of you who've watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We'll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we've met along the way.”

The announcement, signed by Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Scott Disick, went on to thank the show’s executive producer Ryan Seacrest, show partner E! and the production team at Bunim/Murray.

“Our last season will air early next year in 2021. We love you!” it concluded.

Separately, E! issued its own parting words, saying the network had been the home to the family for the past 14 years. “Along with all of you, we have enjoyed following the intimate moments the family so bravely shared by letting us into their daily lives,” it wrote. “While it has been an absolute privilege and we will miss them wholeheartedly, we respect the family's decision to live their lives without our cameras.”

Keeping Up first began airing in October 2007 (wild) and has inspired no less than 12 spin-off series including Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian and Flip It Like Disick.

Back then, only Kim Kardashian was known, and it was mostly just for her sex tape (as well as being Paris Hilton’s BFF). Fast forward to today, and the family is arguably one of the most famous in the world, with million-dollar businesses (but not billion-dollar ones), huge endorsement deals and generally insane careers.

Fans of the show would’ve seen the news coming. In an episode of season 18, Kourt and Kim had gotten into a vicious fight that had ended in tears. “I don’t like being a celebrity,” Kourt had admitted. “If you don’t like being a celebrity, then, you know maybe you should take off from filming,” Kim had replied.

Kourt had wound up deciding to do just that, saying quitting freed her up to focus and plan her time around being a mum. “I just want to feel fulfilled and happy, life is too short,” she’d said at the end of the episode.

Kourt later told Vogue Arabia: “I have been filming the show non-stop for 14 years. I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was.”

Somehow, though, we don't think it'll be too hard to keep up with the KarJenners – even without the show.
