Kim Kardashian led the praise for New Zealand's vow to change their gun laws less than 24 hours after the attacks that left 49 dead and 20 injured.

TooFab reported that in the wake of the mass shooting, which took place at two different mosques in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern promised the country's "gun laws will change," according to the New York Times. Attorney General David Parker echoed her thoughts and announced that New Zealand needs "to ban some semiautomatics, perhaps all of them."

Kim, who has been vocal about gun control since being robbed at gunpoint in Paris in 2016, applauded the country for taking immediate action.

"Just 24 hours after the Christchurch shooting New Zealand bans semiautomatic guns!" she tweeted Saturday morning. "America take note! Why can't our elected officials put public safety over gun manufacturers' profits?!?!"

Kim's sister Khloe added, "Yes sister! Yes!!!!!! Let's end this senseless violence." She added: "Now this is how you lead and protect."

Many on Twitter pointed out that New Zealand has vowed to make this change after only a single mass shooting, while the U.S. has had hundreds of mass shootings and yet has made little change to its ancient gun laws (largely due to the Second Amendment.)

Others shared Kim's stance too; actress Mia Farrow wrote, "The logical response- it was immediate." Sophia Bush also tweeted, "Just. Like. That."

In Australia, less than two weeks after the Port Arthur massacre in 1996, the National Agreement on Firearms all but banned automatic and semiautomatic assault rifles, mandated licensing and registration, and instituted a temporary gun buyback program that took nearly 650,000 assault weapons.
