Bretman Rock Has Some Words For ‘Rude’ David Dobrik

Bretman Rock Has Called Out Controversial YouTuber David Dobrik for being rude, says he made him feel “irrelevant”.

Editor’s note: Lots of swearing in this one guys – you’ve been warned.

There is never a dull moment with Bretman Rock around. Whether it’s announcing his singledom on Twitter, or his glorious niece, the beauty influencer always knows how to keep things interesting. Enter, his latest headline moment: a feud with the controversial YouTuber, David Dobrik.

The beauty influencer turned MTV reality star Bretman Rock jumped on his Instagram story this week to call out disgraced YouTuber David Dobrik for being rude and dismissive of him when they first met, and to nod to the recent events that have seen Dobrik land himself in immense hot water.

Rock and Dobrik both won an E! People’s Choice Award in 2019, and according to Rock, despite being announced back to back (and the fact that Bretman Rock is a massive influencer), Dobrik proceeded to dismissively ask him who he was and what he’d won.

“I went to his table to show my friends my award,” Rock says in the story.

“This motherfucking white bitch goes up to me and says, ‘Who are you? What do you do? What did you win?’” Rock then delivers an iconic “biiiitch,” while pushing his hair back. “Bitch who the fuck am I? What the fuck did I win? And what the fuck do I fucking doing bitch?”

Rock then opens up about his dad passing away the day before receiving the award. “The whole time I was literally just standing by their table like, nobody has ever shit on me and made me feel so irrelevant all in one fucking night,” he adds.

“I’ve been wanting to spill the tea for so fucking long,” he starts. “He’s cancelled now so I really dont give a fuck about sharing this tea,” Rock says at the beginning of the video. Of course, Rock’s referring to the recent disturbing allegations made against Dobrik’s Vlog Squad that have resulted in a significant loss of business opportunities and followers.

Showing off his award from 2019, Rock says, “I like to think I earned it. I didn't have to step on anyone’s toes [to get this award]. I didn’t have to force or abuse anyone for content.”

“After two years, Mr. David, who are you?” Rock asks, looking directly into the camera. “What do you do? What did you win?”

Rock ends the video asking people to vote for him in the upcoming MTV Movie Awards, where he’s been nominated for Breakout Creator of the Year. He also mentions the racism and queerphobia that still remains rife in content creation.

“So many people of colour, especially black creators, get so many of their contents stolen from them. They start so many of the trends, and guess who gets the credit?!” he asks. “Theres so many things that gay, queer, people of colour have to work twice as hard for, and other people just get handed opportunities that we work so hard for.”
