Nicole Kidman Tried To Explain That Pash With Alexander Skarsgard & It Was Hella Awkward
One of the most talked-about moments of this year's Emmy Awards was undoubtedly Nicole Kidman locking lips with her Big Little Lies costar Alexandar Skarsgard right in front of her hubby Keith Urban.
It happened after the True Blood hunkapalooza was announced as the winner of the Best Supporting Actor gong for his role in BLL, and needless to say it made us all feel some THINGS.
Anyhoo, following the explosion of online commentary that was triggered by the hot pash, the Aussie starlet has tried to explain the whole thing away, but TBH just ended making it even more awkies.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show alongside other huge celebs including Colin Farrell, Jane Fonda, Bryan Cranston and Matt Lucas, the host quizzed Kidman on the controversial smooch, even chucking a screen-grab up on the TV for posterity.
“Oh gosh. You are so provocative Graham. Why are you showing that?” Kidman asked, to which Norton responded: “It’s a lovely moment of celebration Nicole”.
“I kissed my husband too!” the 50-year-old actress replied.
Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston then chimed in, joking that it looked like Keith was “applauding the kiss”, which caused Nic to get a wee bit flustered & defensive.
“I did kiss [Keith]. But you’ve got to understand I did everything with Alex!” she argued, referencing to their graphic bonk scenes in Big Little Lies.
“We saw it!” Norton joked.
“All right, I’m backing off,” Nicole sighed, raising her hands in surrender. “I’ve got an amazing, supportive, gorgeous husband who I love more than anything in the world and I gave Alex a congratulatory kiss and he’s like a mannequin.”
Yep, she just kept digging the hole deeper.
“I mean not a mannequin! I’m done,” she laughed as everyone else chuckled along.
Oooooof. DW Nicole. We've all been there.
