I Can’t Stop Watching This Clip Of Machine Gun Kelly Fall Off The Stage In 'SNL'
Like many non-Americans, I've never watched a full episode of Saturday Night Live. But I have seen some highlights. Like, for example, the Dave Chappelle sketch that perfectly captured the cluelessness of the progressives who didn't see Trump's 2016 election victory coming, the underwhelming political comedy of Nicholas Fehn, and now: this incredible clip of Machine Gun Kelly and SNL regular Pete Davidson falling off the stage.
I don't understand what's so funny about this, but it's just very enjoyable. Maybe it's Machine Gun Kelly's triumphant body language before the tumble; replete with chest thumping and fist pumps. All that raw masculinity, followed by his failed attempt to pick up Pete Davidson is just – and I don't use this term lightly – chef's kiss.
Or was it the awkwardness of MGK's towering stature? He is just so thin and long, plus he's wearing bell bottoms for some reason, which is hilarious. Plus, no one, apart from a visibly concerned Bowen Yang, seemed too bothered by the fall, and simply kept on with their frantic hugging (we're in a pandemic, everyone, but sure).
Whatever it is, I can confirm that repeated viewings do not dull the magic of the moment. Enjoy!
