Chris Lilley Says His New Show 'Lunatics' Isn't Meant To Be Trendy
When it comes to comedian Chris Lilley he has had his fair share of hits and misses.
But after the release of his new Netflic series 'Lunatics' it seems the boos have been streaming in loud and fast.
In an interview with The Australian the 44-year-old explained that his show isn't exactly meant to be the cool new piece of content but rather, kinda make you squirm.
"I’m not trying to do the thing that is trendy at the moment," he said.
Speaking specifically about 'Lunatics' the actor says that these characters are ~out there~ really not that disimilar to people you cross in the street.
"When you meet them, you think, “I know that type of person’ but then there is a twist, something crazy.” ‘[In] the end you think, “Actually, I kinda relate to this, she just did that thing that I do everyday,"' he said.
Even though this series might not be his best, at least we can still go back and watch 'We Can Be Heroes' on repeat. Forever.
