We really miss Barack Obama. Like seriously, please come back.

At this point you're all acutely aware of the immigration ban that Donald Trump has imposed on the US blocking many refugees and Muslims from entering the country. Americans have responded by protesting at major airports throughout the States as hundreds of incoming travellers are detained.

So what does the fromer POTUS think of this whole clusterf*ck? In his first statement since leaving office Obama's spokesperson has revealed his musings on the unfolding situation.

He's proud of Americans speaking up for their rights...

“President Obama is heartened by the level of engagement taking place in communities around the country. In his final official speech as President, he spoke about the important role of citizens and how all Americans have a responsibility to be the guardians of our democracy — not just during an election but every day."

He has been watching the protests...

“Citizens exercising their Constitutional right to assemble, organize and have their voices heard by their elected officials is exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake."

He "fundamentally disagrees" with Trump's actions...

“With regard to comparisons to President Obama‘s foreign policy decisions, as we’ve heard before, the President fundamentally disagrees with the notion of discriminating against individuals because of their faith or religion."
