Chrissy Teigen Speaks On Kimye Divorce, Says Kim “Tried Her Best”

“It’s honestly a shame that it didn’t work out because I saw them being a forever relationship.”

Chrissy Teigen has committed the cardinal famous sin for a famous person: giving an update on one of her equally famous friend’s private life. Fortunately for Chrissy (and sadly for us gossip-mongers) it was a brief one. Appearing on What Watch Happens Live! last night, Teigen was asked directly about how her friend Kim Kardashian is doing post-her filing for divorce from Kanye West.

“Kim is doing okay,” Chrissy answered. “I know Kim gave her all for everything. It’s honestly a shame that it didn’t work out because I saw them being a forever relationship. I really did, but I know she tried her best.”

She was also asked whether her husband John Legend had been chatting to Kanye at all in the wake of the divorce. “I will say I have definitely been in touch with Kim more than John has been in touch with Kanye. If anyone knows Kanye, it’s that he goes off the grid and it’s hard to ever contact Kanye,” she answered.

Kimye filed for divorce after nearly seven years of marriage following a series of startling events that played out in the media a few months earlier, including incidents where Kanye West referred to mother in law, Kris Jenner, as Kris Jong-Un, claimed Kim tried to cheat on him with Meek Mill, and cried at a campaign rally revealing he considered aborting North. Kim addressed these events at the time, referencing Kanye’s bipolar disorder and asking for privacy for their family. Several months later, the couple’s divorce plans were announced. The couple had their first child, North West, in 2013 before getting hitched in 2014. They share four children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. Kim’s divorce will reportedly be a major storyline in the upcoming final season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

In other Chrissy-related news, the queen is officially back on Twitter. At the end of March, she announced she’d be leaving the platform despite being a Twitter fave, due to the trolling and negativity she was experiencing on the platform. “Someone can't read that they disappointed you in some way every single day, all day without physically absorbing that energy,” she wrote.

But the queen is back, tweeting a ceremonious “welcome back” on April 16.
