COVID-19 Won't Stop Our Outdoor Cinema Sessions This Summer
The open-air cinema season is back to bring some fun to this hellish year.
In some very pleasing news this week, Moonlight Cinema has announced it’ll be back this year, holding outdoor movie screenings across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
If you’ve never caught one of their showings before, the gist is this: they’re movie screenings of new releases and classics set in beautiful city parks. Guests often BYO drinks and picnic stuff, or you can buy them on-site. Against a backdrop of a stunning sunset, it makes for a pretty nice night.
The series will kick off its showtimes this November, with screenings set to continue all the way through to April. Exact screening dates are still TBC, but the line-up should drop in the coming weeks.
Given the pandemic, the setup will look a little different this year. Numbers will be capped, COVID-safety marshals will be patrolling, and increased hygiene facilities and social distancing measures will be in full swing. Still, though, we'll be getting our outdoor movies back! And thankfully they likely won't feel as weird as recent concerts have.
