If you had ‘Machine Gun Kelly releases a music video that’s an ‘80s style summer camp slasher featuring Noah Beck and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker’ on your 2021 bingo card, then nice work!
We can confirm that MGK’s latest music video “love race", featuring the vocal stylings of Sleeping with Sirens' Kellin Quinn, is an extremely camp tribute to high school slashers that is not at all light on the gore.
Taking place at an American summer camp, the video stars MGK as a nerdy emo teen who gets shot with a marshmallow-laden flame arrow squarely in the forehead. A masked assassin wreaks havoc around the camp, killing people left, right and centre in chaotic ways – including putting a whole-ass alligator in one camper’s tent.
And of course Travis Barker makes is present on the drums. After all – Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are simply Megan Fox and MGK in a different font. With MGK wearing a vial of Megan’s blood around his neck and Kourtney Kardashian giving Travis Barker an extremely unhinged home tattoo – these couples are pretty much one and the same.
This music video is quite the fever dream – it’s intense, flamboyant and gruesome – peak MGK energy, essentially.
TikToker Noah Beck also has a cameo for some reason, starring as a buff but cringe-worthy camp counsellor. Confident that he can beat the murderer in a boxing match, his arm is promptly ripped off before he’s slapped with it several times. What a character arc.
