The Angie Kent & Carlin Sterritt Breakup Saga Continues

Angie Kent continues to drop breadcrumbs about her breakup with The Bachelorette beau Carlin Sterritt, and we continue to lap it up.

Angie Kent is back and she has more to say about her split with The Bachelorette beau Carlin Sterritt, probably one of 2020’s most mystifying splits.

Previously, after announcing her breakup back in July, Angie had said: “chemistry doesn’t always mean compatibility”, “our values didn’t align” and “he’s a Christian boy… we’re just different.” Meanwhile, Carlin had shared that his mental health had impacted the relationship and that he hadn’t been the “best version” of himself because of it.

Fast forward to now, four months later, and Angie is still being asked for more details on the split. During an appearance on The Kyle & Jackie O Show Tuesday morning, Kyle Sandilands pressed Angie on what caused it.

“We were so smitten with each other on the show, but we were so different [out in the real world],” she said. “Both of us were different.”

She continued: “I’m always myself, but he got to see me full throttle, and I was stressed after the show too. He was very religious and had all these ideas that I should be a certain way when I wasn’t.”

“I don’t want to be with somebody who wants me to change. I want somebody to love me for me.” And yeah, fair enough.

As for if she’s dating anyone new, Angie said she isn’t and that she isn’t ready to “jump into” another relationship just yet. “I’m not cuddling with anyone, I’m so boring,” she said. “Carlin and I only broke up a few months ago, and I don’t want to jump straight into something else. I don’t know if I trust yet.”

Back in July, Angie said she was leaning on family, friends and “an amazing therapist” for support. “I was hiding in bed a lot for the first couple of weeks dealing with all the feels and the constant speculation for over a month that Carlin and I had broken up when in fact we had not,” she told House of Wellness. “We were taking time to navigate what was going on.”

She went on: “I was hassled by paps outside my house, [there were] constant calls from media and untrue articles being written about us when all we were doing was taking time out and trying to gain some clarity. After all that it led to us eventually breaking up; the fear of heartbreak and a public one was quite tough.”

We can only imagine.
