YOUR FAVORITE MTV SHOWS ARE ON PARAMOUNT+

Netflix’s Spicy New Show ‘Blood & Water’ Is About To Fill Your ‘Gossip Girl’ Void

...

So while we all patiently wait for the Gossip Girl reboot (read: GIVE US THE DAMN REBOOT), this new Netflix show is gonna satiate our hankering for some good ol’ teen drama.

While it’s not the halls of Constance Billard School for Girls, Netflix series Blood & Water is serving up the kind of spicy Upper East Side drama we love (and are craving).

In the trailer, which dropped May 11, it had all the classic GG hallmarks: the salacious drama, the resting-bitch faces, the underage drinking, the impeccable school grounds and the chic AF uniforms.

Instead of Manhattan’s swanky Upper East Side though, Blood & Water takes place in South Africa, where central protagonist, 16-year-old Puleng Khumalo (played by Ama Qamata), is on a mission to prove whether a swimming star at the school is actually her sister who was abducted at birth. OMG, this IS good.

This is the official word from Netflix:

“Set in the surroundings of Parkhurst College, the prestigious inner-city school for elite scholars and academic overachievers, Blood & Water follows the exploits of 16-year-old Puleng Khumalo (Ama Qamata), as she engineers her transfer to the school to investigate the 17-year-old cold case of the abducted-at-birth older sister she’s never met.”

Yep, we got the popcorn ready.

Qamata also shared the show’s trailer to her Instagram page with the caption: “Welcome to the jungle...It’s about to get hectic.”

Holy sh*t, we’re more excited than Blair discovering a sale on headbands.

Xoxo, MTV.
