Katy Perry Has Given Birth To A Baby Girl With Fiancé Orlando Bloom
Congratulations are in order for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, who have given birth to their first child.
Katy Perry is officially a mother!
The singer and her fiancé Orlando Bloom have welcomed their first child together, naming her Daisy Dove Bloom. The couple shared the news with UNICEF, an organisation they serve as Goodwill Ambassadors for, saying: "We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter."
They continued, explaining their decision to involve UNICEF with the announcement: "But we know we're the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19, many more newborn lives are at risk because of a greater lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathise with struggling parents now more than ever."
Daisy must've looked like a Daisy because back in June, Katy shared that the couple would likely choose the baby's name only she was out. "We have yet to decide specifically on her name because, I think, we've got options and she'll tell us," she said in an interview on Mix 104.1's Karson & Kennedy. "I'll look at her and go, 'Oh yeah, yeah, you are her. You are that.'" Daisy is likely also a nod to Katy Perry's iconic song, "Daises".
While Daisy is Katy Perry's first child, Orlando Bloom is already a parent. He shares nine-year-old Flynn with ex Miranda Kerr.
