I'm not afraid to admit that I find Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's recent hook-up endlessly fascinating. Rumours started that the pair were dating in late January, and I was genuinely in shock.
The drummer responsible for getting through our angsty teen years dating the founder of Poosh? A cornerstone of early 2000s emo culture joining forces with the Kardashian family? It's big Nicole Richie x Joel Madden energy. Big Machine Gun Kelly x Megan Fox energy (which you're welcome emblazon across your chest if you're so inclined).
Anyway, while we speculate about whether Kourtney listens to "All The Small Things" on her school drop-off, or if Travis will soon have his own Poosh wellness column, here's an update on where they're at, for those similarly invested.
Over on his Instagram story a few days later, it was revealed that the (intense/emo/ sexy/kinky?) quote was from a love letter that Kourtney had scribbled to Travis. Maybe she does actually have Blink 182 energy after all.
The handwritten love note said, "To lots of fun adventures, may we destroy each other completely. Love, Kourtney." Around this same time, Kourtney also shared a touching poem on her Instagram story, writing "Roses are red, violets are blue, garlic bread, Blink-182." We love to see it.
Travis Barker has kept the headlines coming, too. Yesterday, he appeared on the Drew Barrymore show and gushed about his newfound romance, saying it "just comes natural", and calling Kourtney a "great mom".
Barrymore commented on the handwritten note, calling it "hot", before saying her perfect example of a love letter would read, "can we just go to bed early, and, like, watch a movie?"
"I would prefer the opposite," Travis replied. "I would prefer to, you know, kind of go in a blaze of glory, like ball of flames". Glad to know Trav and Kourtney are on the same page about having an destroy-each-other-fire-ball kind of relationship.
And how's Scott Disick travelling with all of this? Well, despite saying on a recent KUWTK exclusive clip that he'd be down to marry Kourtney "right here, right now", he's currently dating teenager Amelia Hamlin, and has bleached his hair a truly heinous shade of blonde. According to a source for ET, though, Scott "isn't threatened by Kourtney and Travis' relationship".
"Scott knows he always has a special place in Kourtney's heart and that he can't ever be replaced and will always be in the picture since he's the father of their children," the source said.
Wishing Kourtney and Travis a long, happy, emo relationship.
