Amy Adams' Smoky Eye Trick Will Blow Your Mind
Apart from her stellar acting chops, Amy Adams is perhaps best known for her naturally striking red hair and piercing blue eyes.
When it comes to makeup, however, Amy isn't one for caking it on. Just ask her makeup artist, Stephen Sollitto.
"I'm usually super light-handed. I like a pretty natural look," Stephen told E! Online. "We have the same aesthetic - [Amy] likes light makeup, too."
For yesterday's SAG Awards, Stephen amped up Amy's usual look to compliment her ~stunning~ Brandon Maxwell gown and statement Cartier necklace with a classic smoky eye.
Using a mix of Laura Mercier Eye Definer and shadow, an Urban Decay Naked palette and Benefit mascara, Amy's eyes are popping in all the right ways.
If you're trying it at home, Stephen's advice is "Don't pile on the makeup."
"Start with mascara first, and your eyes will already darken up." WHAT!? Mascara FIRST? Mind, blown.
According to Stephen, if you finish a smoky eye with mascara, you can go from zero to racoon eyes without even realising.
"[Choose a] lighter shade of eye shadow than you think you actually need," he said. "Ring the eye. Line the inner rim and top lash line with black."
