Don’t Mess With North West
Important update! Kim Kardashian has come to her daughter North West's defence after fully grown adults doubted the seven-year-old child's painting chops.
Earlier this week, Kim took to her Instagram story to proudly show off a mountain landscape her daughter had painted, writing the caption, "My little artist North".
The internet responded with shock, awe and skepticism: this was painted by a seven-year-old?!
While many of us were still mastering the Cool S shape at age seven, are we really to believe that North West is just out here being a Bob Ross protégé? Or are the doubters just self-conscious about a literal child besting them at painting?
Well according to Kim K (and I, North's biggest fan), they absolutely are.
"DON'T PLAY WITH ME WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILDREN!!!" She started the post. (The capital letters alone suggest she's about to let us have it.
"North worked incredibly hard on her painting, which took several weeks to complete. AS a proud mom, I want to share her work with everyone. I'm seeing op-ed pieces in the media and social media from grown adults breaking down whether or not my child actually painted this! How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome!?!?!"
She ended the rant with the single best line I've ever seen:
"NORTH WEST PAINTED THAT PERDIOTDDDDDABCDEFGZFDT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Kim also tweeted screenshots of several tweets and news articles doubting her daughter, telling them to "FOH" (fuck outta here). She is not happy.
Internet sleuths and journalists have come together to try and solve the mystery, including this VICE piece that interviewed actual art experts on the painting's legitimacy.
One TikTok user, @camrynfred, claimed that her own mother was North West's teacher for this masterpiece, even posting a photo of herself at seven-years-old with an identical painting.
Also, it's worth keeping in mind that when you are extremely wealthy, you can afford to send your daughter to fancy as fuck art classes.
So, word to the wise: do not come for Kim K's daughter. Now excuse me while I try to program "PERDIOTDDDDDABCDEFGZFDT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" into my phone's autocorrect.
