Elliot Page Is Interviewed By Vanity Fair In Lead Up To Oprah Interview
Elliot Page has taken part in a new interview with trans journalist Thomas Page McBee for Vanity Fair. The powerful piece, which you can read here, discusses " joy, creativity, and the "misinformation and lies" embedded in anti-trans legislation." It also features a clip from Page's interview with Oprah Winfrey, which he also shared to his Instagram.
The interview covers many raw and important topics, including harmful anti-trans rhetoric in legislation, politics and wider society.
"I feel emerging joy and excitement one moment, and then in the next, profound sadness reading about people wanting to take gender-affirming health care away from children. I feel so grateful to be at this place in my life, and I want to use the strength I have to help in all the ways that I can," Page says.
"The reason you and I have the privileges we have is because people have sacrificed so much for so, so, so long and put everything on the line."
In Elliot's interview with Oprah, he discusses his decision to come out, and the joy he's felt since starting his transition.
"Getting out of the shower and the towel's around your waist, and you're looking at yourself in the mirror and you're just like, 'there I am' and I'm not having the moment where I'm panicked," he said in the Oprah interview.
This is Elliot's first on-camera interview since coming out. You can watch Elliot's appearance on The Oprah Conversation on Apple TV+.
Elliot recently graced the cover of TIME Magazine, after coming out as trans in an emotional letter posted to social media late last year.
