ICYMI, The Hills is about to return to our telly screens, and we ~literally~ cannot deal.

The Hills: New Beginnings reunites original cast members Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado, Heidi Pratt, Jason Wahler, Justin "Bobby" Brescia, Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt and Whitney Port, and adds newcomers Brandon Thomas Lee and Mischa Barton. The series follows the cast as they navigate their personal and professional lives and face new chapters of life in Los Angeles.

To celebrate The Hills: New Beginnings, we’re counting down the most iconic moments from show’s first six seasons, from Whitney Port faceplanting on national telly, to Justin Bobby’s combat boots at the beach.

Number seven on our list comes from the ~star~ of Laguna Beach and The Hills, Lauren Conrad...or more specifically, her makeup bag.

Since departing the show in 2009, LC went on to build a fashion empire, get married and give birth to a gorgeous baby with one on the way, but the reality TV star left a lasting mark on the show that we just cannot forget: her perfect mascara tears.

During season four, episode five, Lauren and Audrina attempt to repair their struggling friendship, and things get v. teary.

"What about the past? Do you want to keep bringing that up?" Audrina asks Lauren. "You can't keep dwelling on that, you have to start from now, a fresh start, move forward."

"If you really want to say let's go back, let the past be the past, that would make me so happy because that's all I want," Lauren responds, and then....

*CUE THE SINGLE PERFECT MASCARA TEAR*

In an interview with MTV on the 10th anniversary of The Hills, Lauren explained the tearful moment and revealed that it wasn't actually mascara that we were seeing.

"I don't think it was the mascara – I think it was the eyeliner that was running," she said. "I still wear the same mascara, and it doesn't run like that."

Lauren also noted that "I rarely cry these days," which we are happy to hear.

While Lauren and Audrina's friendship didn't exactly go the distance, her perfect mascara tear will forever live on in our hearts.
