Timotheé Chalamet, Ariana Grande, J-Law & Heaps Of Other Celebs Team Up For New Netflix Comedy

Could this be the new 'Love Actually'?

Could this be the new 'Love Actually'?

In what has to be the most star-studded cast of all-time, Ariana Grande, Timotheé Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill and Jennifer Lawrence were announced to be fronting a new Netflix movie.

Titled Don’t Look Up, the comedy was created by screenwriter and director Adam McKay, and will also star Cate Blanchett, Kid Cudi, Matthew Perry, Rob Morgan, Himesh Patel and Tomer Sisley. The whole thing sounds pretty extra.

“The cast of Adam McKay’s DON’T LOOK UP is absolutely iconic,” Netflix tweeted on Wednesday.

Filming is scheduled to start before the end of the year.

The flick will follow the story of “two low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn mankind of an impending asteroid that could destroy the planet,” reports Variety. Naturally, no one believes them. It’s thought that Lawrence and DiCaprio will play the astronomers.

Ensemble casts are a notoriously difficult nut to crack. Despite A-list line-ups, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and What To Expect When You’re Expecting all proved to be flops at the box office. Which makes sense considering their plot lines needed to ensure every big celeb got enough airtime.

That’s not to say, however, that every movie with an all-star cast is doomed to fail. Case in point: Love Actually. Plus, this is Netflix we’re talking about here. If there’s anyone we can trust to create content gold, even in an area when most others have failed, it's them. We trust 'em.
