The Cranberries Lead Singer Dolores O'Riordan Has Died Suddenly At Age 46

...

Dolores O'Riordan, the lead singer of iconic Irish rock band The Cranberries has died suddenly at age 46.

O'Riordan was found in her Hilton hotel room yesterday, with the death being treated as "unexplained."

A statement from the singer's publicist read, "Irish and international singer Dolores O'Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old."

"The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time."

"Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

Dolores, who has been recently touring with her band D.A.R.K, told Metro last year that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and had battled with depression for a long time.

"There are two ends of the spectrum - you can get extremely depressed and dark and lose interest in the things you love to do, then you get super manic..."

"When you're manic you don't sleep and get very paranoid. So I'm dealing with it with medication," she told the publication.

Celebrities including Ronan Keating, Brian McFadden, James Corden and Hozier have taken to Twitter to express their sadness over O'Riordan's tragic death.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dolores' family and friends.
