JoJo Says Her “Amazing, Wonderful, Perfect” Girlfriend Encouraged Her To Come Out & Excuse Me While I Cry Like A Proud Gay Sibling

In a new interview with Jimmy Fallon, JoJo confirms that she’s loved up (and has a a musical movie coming out).

Actual human rainbow, JoJo Siwa, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon yesterday with some pretty big news.

JoJo joined the show virtually, wearing an iconic full glitter marching band jacket and her trademark bow – an amazing contrast with Jimmy's trademark suit and hoodie. She spoke about her recent coming out (which btw, is a huge deal), and shared that it was all more spontaneous than planned.

As she was getting ready to feature in a TikTok with the folks from The Pride House, she realised it might appear as though she was publicly coming out. "And I was like, 'I don't mind, because it is true,'" she said.

"I do have the most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world," she added [cue confetti cannons and rainbow lasers shooting from every corner of the screen]. I mean, not really, but it kind of felt like that.

She said that after posting a couple of unsubtle hints about her queerness online, her girlfriend really encouraged her to post this iconic photo on main, after initially sharing it as an Instagram story only viewable by 'close friends'. We love a supportive girlfriend in this house.

She spoke about all of the love and joy she's experienced since her announcement, saying it was "the most love" she thinks she's ever received.

"And the coolest thing about it was it was just by me showing the world the last little piece of me they haven't seen yet, and it was really awesome," she added.

When asked about if she was nervous about the possible reactions, JoJo replied saying: "Even if there's a million people – that's a lot of people – that don't accept it, there's 100 million that do." That's icon shit right there, particularly if you consider the enormous fan base of young people she's sending that message to.

She goes on to say that she could see how it was possibly a big risk to come out, but it was absolutely going to be worth it either way.

"If I lost everything that I've created because of being myself, and loving who I want to love, I don't want it. That's not what I want if I can't love who I love, that's one of the most important things to me," she said.

"I'm just so happy, because now I get to share what makes me the happiest with the world, and it makes my heart so happy."

WE are so happy, JoJo.

She finished the interview announcing an exciting upcoming project with Nickelodeon called The J-Team, a musical movie about her life, and about being true to yourself. She's currently in Canada quarantining and getting ready to film.

The J-Team will feature six original songs and two of her older songs, and honestly we can't wait.

Yes, her under-12 fans will have their eyes glued to the screen, but JoJo's really opened up her fan base to include queers of all ages around the world, who just have no choice but to stan.
