Kristin Cavallari & Jay Cutler Have Cited ‘Marital Misconduct’ In Divorce Documents As Cheating Rumours Fire Up
Rumour has it, Jay cheated in their marriage, with “marital misconduct” being listed in the court documents submitted by Kristin.
However, People are reporting that gossip surrounding an alleged affair between Jay and Kristin’s best friend, Kelly Henderson, is completely false.
"Kristin and Jay are a lot different. She has so much on her plate, with her brands and with the show [Very Cavallari]," said the source. "Jay is not as interested in all of that. She's so passionate about her work and they couldn’t relate to each other as much. So it pulled them apart."
It’s very plausible for work to be all consuming in celebrity couples, causing a rift between the two.
The same source revealed that this divorce had been a long time in the making.
"Kristin and Jay had been having problems for a long time," they said of the reality TV and NFL stars. "They hadn't spent much time together in recent months. On their recent trip [to the Bahamas], they already knew they were splitting up. The reason they announced it now is because it’s a quiet time for them to work through all of this and try to move forward."
Entertainment Tonight, who has viewed the court documents submitted by Kristin, said they were submitted on April 24th in Tennessee and claim that Jay “is guilty of such inappropriate marital conduct as renders further cohabitation unsafe and improper."
It also adds that "any misconduct alleged or implied against her in the complaint for divorce was in response to and/or as a result of misconduct on behalf of the Husband."
"Marital misconduct” can mean an array of things under Tennessee law, including domestic violence, adultery, and verbal, emotional, or physical abuse (or threat of abuse)."
The couple have three kids together and announced the separation on Kristin’s Instagram, saying, “with great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”
