Miley Cyrus Reveals The One Thing That Sucked The Most About Her Divorce From Liam Hemsworth
Miley Cyrus had a very enlightening conversation about exes in a recent sit-down on Joe Rogan's podcast.
Miley Cyrus has certainly been rather chatty about her divorce from Liam Hemsworth in recent weeks. A bi-product of her recent press tour for "Midnight Sky"? Let's just say it's likely.
A few weeks ago, a “source” close to her shared intimate deets of her and Liam’s split, saying the former couple spoke “very little” after their separation and are currently not in touch. Then, a couple weeks ago, Miley herself dropped that she’d written break-up song “Slide Away” before her actual split with Liam. Ouch. And then came her appearance on podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.
During the two-hour chat, Miley Cyrus spoke about Liam Hemsworth several times without ever mentioning him by name. “I recently just went through a very public divorce that fucking sucked,” she said. “What really sucked about it wasn't the fact that me and someone that I loved realised that we didn't love each other the way that we used to anymore. I can accept that. I can't accept the villainizing and all those stories.”
She continued: “It’s just amazing to me that the public kind of thinks that there's no gap of time that they didn't see that could possibly be what led to this. 'One day you were happy on the carpet and the next day you were making out with your friend in Italy! What the fuck?' Well, there was a lot of time between that that you didn't see...I didn't, you know."
The “friend” she’s referring to is, of course, Kaitlynn Carter, who she was papped kissing on board a yacht in Europe. At the time, Miley and Liam had been thought to still be together so the photos showed that they… weren’t.
Also in the Joe Rogan chat, Miley revealed she thought love gave a similar high as drugs. “Actually, I called the love of mine who I was with when we got divorced, it was almost like a pacifier,” she said. “It was that thing I just needed not because we were in love anymore but because the comfort and because my brain said, 'oh, this feels better. This is comforting.' But actually, knowing that I was giving in to an addiction made me feel way worse. I had the hangover. Next day, okay, we sleep together, next day, I’m totally hungover. It felt like a relapse every time I’d go back.”
Miley, who split with Cody Simpson just last month, also explained that when she’s done with a relationship, she doesn’t look back. “Men in my life have told me I’m a cold fucking bitch because I leave when things are done,” she said. “I don’t fuck dead guys when it’s over. It’s over and you’re dead to me and I move on.”
These days, Miley says she has one non-negotiable in her dating life: “you better know what you want because I’m just not interested in taking another 10 years like I did with my first love figuring that out." Fair play.
